said a team based in Lafayette, Louisiana has become affiliated with it. The team of Carolyn French and Byron Reyes, overseeing $150 million of client assets, had previously been with UBS.
Prospera, a privately held firm, is based in Dallas, TX, and was founded in 1982 as a full-service, boutique broker-dealer and support organization for independent financial professionals in the US.
French, senior vice president, received her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and went on to obtain her doctorate from Louisiana State University. Prior to her career in wealth management, she served as a socioeconomic consultant with the US Department of the Interior.
Before working as an independent advisor, French was SVP of wealth management at Morgan Stanley and SVP investments at UBS. She has founded Shining Light Foundation and Friends of Music, both non-profit organizations helping to meet the needs of students in the Lafayette, Louisiana area.
Beginning his career at Merrill Lynch, Reyes, who is first vice president, he has had over 28 years of experience within the financial services industry. Reyes has held a Certified Investment Management Analyst certification since 2004. Byron is active in several non-profit organizations including wild life conservation and Big Brothers Big Sisters, having served as a big brother for 10 years as well as the role of his local chapter's president.
